About

New Act, New Album

Throughout a memorable 13-year musical journey as a founding member of the Vancouver based Rock/Reggae band, Redeye Empire, Gabe Davis had the privilege of performing at some of the most renowned festivals and iconic venues over the course of multiple tours across North America. Playing to thousands of people per night while sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in the rock/reggae genre, such as G Love & Special Sauce, Slightly Stoopid, The English Beat, Michael Franti, Soja, Pepper, Iration, Fishbone, Arrested Development, Xavier Rudd, Rebelution, The Dirty Heads, Sublime with Rome, and many others; Redeye Empire developed into one of Canada’s foremost recognized rock/reggae bands.

Following a 3-year hiatus, reinventing himself and his sound, Gabe Davis has emerged with a new solo project that incorporates his studio experience of recording 4 full length albums, alongside his storied musical and personal growth journey.

Gabe’s breakout solo album, The Deep End, is an eclectic mix of songs that are influenced by the sounds of roots, reggae, funk, and folk music. The lyrics explore the universally relatable human experience that connects loss with hope, suffering with meaning, growth through pain, and acceptance through healing.

The meaningful results from this 2-year creative process could not have been achieved without the collaboration of some amazingly passionate and talented musicians, alongside the support and friendship of everyone involved in the process.

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike us as the most beautiful”. This project is a by-product of facing such struggles and honouring those experiences through the expression of music.
